Some of the biggest names in industry have operations in Southern Appalachia. Hundreds of products are manufactured here, from automotive air bags to restaurant furniture to food products, plate glass and athletic apparel. England Corsair, Rockwell, Quebecor, and TRW Corporation are just a few of the more than 100 companies that have discovered how profitable it is to do business in Northeast Tennessee and Southern Kentucky.
We have a low cost of living, mild climate, strong workforce, and we’re close to major U.S. markets. We’re also served by one of the most affordable and reliable power producers in the United States. Electricity for our region is generated by the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), the nation’s largest public electric producer. Utility costs in the TVA region are, on average, 18% lower than elsewhere in the U.S. TVA also offers new and expanding industries cost incentive programs that can save you up to 30% in your energy costs.
